This book teaches you how you can teach grammar by playing games. It's really fun, both for
    the teacher and the student.

On first receiving the book it didn't impress me as much as other grammar games books I've seen, but this was deceptive. It's true that there is a lot of text and the resources are printed as fairly small pictures scattered throughout the book rather than having a separate photocopiable section with whole-page activities. However, the book actually has far more activities listed under each section than other books I've looked at, so you're much more likely to find something that will work in your context. In addition, this new edition comes with a CD-ROM so the photocopiable resources that didn't look so impressive in the book, can be opened as PDF files and printed out (usually enlarged from the picture in the book itself).

It might not have many flashy pictures but I can see myself referring back to this book for new ideas much more frequently than the 'photocopy-and-go' style resource books I was using previously.

I had one of Penny Urr's Grammar Practice activities years ago which I gave away, so knew this new edition was likely to be a very practical resource. I am delighted with it. Just as the author intended, you are able to look up a particular grammar point being covered in class, and quickly find a practical activity at the level of your studetns ( and often more than one) which adds interest to the class, gives students excellent practise and reinforces the grammar. Exactly what ESOL teachers need. I am delighted with it and the additional activities it includes, including the CD Rom with user friendly photocopy versions. Penny Urr is a very experienced ESOl teacher who knows what works in the classroom and will interest learners.
