Promoting Strategic Reading in College EFL

Short description: College EFL students often lack systematic strategies for processing complex informational texts. This presentation will demonstrate several reading-to-learn strategies, including K-W-L (Know-Want-Learn) and construction of graphic organizers, which prompt students to approach a text purposefully, to read it strategically, and to consolidate and reflect on what they learn from it.
