Temple University Japan:
Teaching Listening and Speaking: Tasks for Oral Communication
Date: Saturday, February 8th, 2003 Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Speaker: Patricia Porter, San Francisco State University
Description:
Most EFL teachers recognize the need for effective classroom activities to improve their students oral communication skills, but they may be unsure about principles for designing and choosing such tasks. If you are such a teacher -- or if you just want new ideas for listening and speaking tasks -- then this hands-on seminar/workshop by Patricia Porter is what you need. She will focus primarily on listening for comprehension and speaking for fluency, though she will not totally ignore language accuracy.
