This lecture will discuss the international cooperative efforts in the formulation of the substance and methodology of peace education by various international teams of peace educators. It is these developments which are making possible the initiation of the peace education certificate at TC Tokyo. Betty A. Reardon, the founding Director of the Peace Education Program at Teachers College Columbia University and the International Institutes on Peace Education, holds a doctorate in education from Columbia University and an MA in history from New York University.
