Speaker: Maurice Jamall, Rob Waring, Alastair Graham-Marr, Mark O'Neil
Description:
This course has been designed to address the needs of teachers in Japan. All ideas derive from classroom research, and trial-and-error experience in various kinds of Japanese teaching situations. The course is appropriate for teachers of Japanese senior high school students, college students, and adults (and so are completely different from the David English House one-day certificate courses that focus on the teaching of children). Doors open at 9:30.
Sessions:
- Classroom Management, Maurice Jamall, Seikei University.
- Dealing with Vocabulary, Rob Waring, Notre Dame Seishin Women's University
- Teaching Skills for Listening and Speaking, Alastair Graham-Marr, Tokai University
- Lesson Planning, Mark O'Neil, Cambridge University Press
Different course contents are offered in alternating years. To obtain the 'Introductory Certificate', it is necessary to attend one course and write a report based on that course. To obtain the full 'Certificate', it is necessary to attend a Course A and a Course B and write a report on each of the courses. The Certificates are awarded by Oxford University Press and David English House.
