The fifth seminar in Nellie’s Seminar Series 2004 will feature three presentations as follows:

  1. Time: 13:00 – 13:50
    Title: Let's make you the best teacher ever!
    Presenter: Richard Graham (Genki English)
    Target: Teachers of children.
    Language: Japanese
    Content: Richard Graham has been working in the UK on new DVDs, CDs and maybe even a few phonics ideas for teachers of children.
  2. Time: 14:20 – 15:10
    Title: Output - The Secret to Accuracy and Fluency
    Presenter: Ritsuko Nakata (IIEEC Teacher Training Center President)
    Target: Teachers of children.
    Language: English (and Japanese if the audience needs it)
    Content: Many teachers wonder why their students are not talking or taking the initiative to create conversation. Students need to be taught how to speak. You will learn how to get your students to speak 80% of the time during class with the MAT METHOD. At the same time they will be able to ask and answer questions naturally and fluently without mistakes.
  3. Time: 15:40 – 16:30
    Title: Fun with Phonics and Picture Books
    Presenter: Tibor Lucskai (Apricot)
    Target: Teachers of kindergarten and elementary school children
    Language: English
    Content: Learning phonics can make a world of difference. In this presentation, the presenter will show you how to incorporate phonics activities into your lessons through Apricot's new, best selling flashcards and CD set, "Click on Phonics." In a relaxed and enjoyable manner without teaching phonics rules directly, the presenter will demonstrate practical and easy-to-do games and activities with songs and chants.
