Gunma JALT:

How is CLT viewed and implemented by high school teachers of English?

Date: Sunday, February 27th, 2005 Time: 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Speaker: Rieko Nakajima

Description:
Since Monbu-kagakusho introduced the idea of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in the Course of Study, nurturing practical "communicative competence" has been emphasized in the Japanese secondary English education. This workshop presents the results of the research based on interviews with 19 junior and senior high school teachers regarding how they reacted to CLT, before inviting participants into discussion on CLT in Japan.
