Yokohama JALT:

Children's English Education at Bilingual and English Schools Across Asia

Date: Sunday, April 10th, 2005 Time: 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Speaker: Jason Good

Description:
We often hear that Japan is lagging behind the rest of Asia with children's English education, but what is the rest of Asia doing in this regard, especially in bilingual and English-based schools? We'll look at the bilingual movement across Asia, as well as the core of any bilingual curriculum - literacy, and how we teach this to children. Jason Good is an Asia rep for Houghton Mifflin, and was a teacher in Japan. He currently travels around Asia to observe various curriculums used at bilingual and English schools.
