Text book writing can be an immensely challenging, frustrating and exhausting activity, but it can also be very rewarding (creatively, at least!). This talk will describe the genesis and development of a textbook typical of many published for the Japanese market, and will offer suggestions for prospective authors regarding proposal writing and submission, pitfall avoidance, and project planning.
