ESP in Japan: What it has been and what it can be

Description:
English for specific purposes (ESP) is taught in many ways. This talk will begin with an overview of what has been done and then move quickly into what ESP can do. Topics to be covered will include the rationale for ESP, current concepts, and useful ideas from other fields, including second language acquisition, critical discourse analysis and corpus linguistics.

About the speaker: Judy Noguchi has B.A. and B.S. degrees (chemistry) from the University of Hawaii, an M.Ed. (TESL) from Temple University Japan and a Ph.D. (applied linguistics) from the University of Birmingham.

    4. Click to select the vCalendar file you've just saved, and then click Open.
