American Kids Raised in Japan: Bi-lingualism and the Self-identity Issue

Description:
This presentation will discuss the author's experience of raising three all American kids in Japan. He will discuss the affect of becoming bilingual and bicultural as well as his thoughts on the Japanese public education system in general. Finally, he hopes to address what he believes are misconceptions in Japan regarding the self-identity of kids raised in cultures outside of their own nationality.
