Teaching oral communication to groups of Japanese students (such as university or high school classes) requires solid professional skills. This certificate training course will give participating teachers (1) an understanding of the cultural factors at play in a Japanese university or high school class, and (2) a working knowledge of classroom management principles that have proven effective in the Japanese context.

Certificate:
To receive the Certificate in Teaching Communication to Japanese students, you have to:
- attend a training session
- write two short reports

Trainer:
Bruno Vannieu has been teaching French conversation at Japanese universities for the past 15 years. He has been active for the past 10 years in teacher training to both French and English teachers. He is a co-author of eight French and English language textbooks, and of numerous articles on conversation teaching. His particular focus is on classroom management and the pragmatics of conversation. He works at the School of Languages and Communication of Kobe University.
