Description:
This 6-day intensive Certificate Course in teaching elementary children is a practical course. Participants are trained in practical classroom techniques that motivate East Asian children to be active learners of English. All methodology is underpinned by theory, but the emphasis is on how this theory can be applied into practice.
Some of the topics covered:

  • Child-initiated learning,
  • Games,
  • Phonics,
  • Introducing targets,
  • Using games effectively,
  • The role of the teacher,
  • Lesson planning,
  • Classroom management,
  • Making writing fun,
  • Song writing,
  • Correction.
The fee for the 6-day course is 65,000 yen (55,000 yen for ETJ members). David English House will find good accomodation near the school for about 6,000 yen per night for those teachers who require it.
Note: This course is also offered during August.
