January 19th in Tokyo for a free talk on how changes to the elementary curriculum may affect English education in secondary schools. The speakers - Kensaku Yoshida of Sophia University and Tom Merner of the Japan College of Foreign Languages - will share their knowledge and experience from working on Monbukagakusho committees to revise English education. Topics covered will include the current state of English education and teacher training in elementary schools, proposed options for elementary English education, and how these changes may affect secondary English education.
