Meisei University International Studies Centre:
2012 Meisei ISC Professional Development Forum
Date: Saturday, November 17th, 2012 Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Speaker: TBA; call for papers deadline is Friday, October 5
Description:
Meisei University's International Studies Centre guest lecturers will host their second annual professional development forum where English lecturers will present short seminars on EFL classroom practice and relevant research themes. We invite short presentations and attendance by any interested teachers or researchers, particularly those working in university and college contexts. The forum's goal is to offer an opportunity for language teachers to exchange teaching skills, classroom experiences and research focuses, which ultimately enables us to better teach our students; and to present our work in a collegial atmosphere. Publishers will be in attendance with classroom materials for inspection.
Presentations will be 25 minutes + 5 minutes for Q &A. Proposals for short presentations (25 minutes) are welcome. The submission deadline is Friday, October 5. We encourage presentations (in English) such as:
- ELT lesson shares, classroom activities/tasks/projects;
- Reports on action research you are currently working on in your classroom context;
- Intercultural approaches to classroom practices and content for language learning.
Submission requirements:
- Contact details: Name, affiliation, telephone number, email address
- Presentation title
- Presentation abstracts (100 words)
- Presentation description (for the forum program): 50 words
- Desired equipment (PPT projector)
- Comments or questions.
Please pass this information on to any colleagues who may be interested; university educators are more likely to find the event useful. Please email all proposals, registration and queries to Carolyn Gibbons.
