Description:
(1) Retasking Dictogloss
This presentation will demonstrate three ways a short dictogloss component on quizzes supports vocabulary acquisition, timely assessment, and evaluation of achievement for learners.

(2) Extremely Short Stories
ESS is a creative writing activity in which students write freely on a given topic, following a rule of "exactly 50 words." ESS was introduced at three universities. In this presentation we will discuss discourse patterns and attitudes towards English learning.
