This seminar will focus on different types of writing and different reasons for writing. We will look at pre-writing activities and how the teacher can guide the students to more effective writing. We will also evaluate some course book writing activities and look at ways to make them more communicative. This seminar is part of a series of seminars for Japanese teachers of English at junior and senior high schools offered by The British Council, Osaka. The evening seminars are designed to assist teachers in their day to day teaching and provide practical ideas for adapting communicative methodology to the Japanese junior and senior high school classrooms.
