Yokohama JALT:

Drama-tic Improvements to English Teaching Using Drama

Date: Sunday, December 8th, 2002 Time: 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Speaker: Kristie Collins of The DramaWorks Team

Description:
The DramaWorks team, authors of textbooks Star Taxi (2000) and PopStars (2002), will do a presentation using a new method for teaching EFL using drama techniques. This method has been used successfully in secondary and higher education, and would appeal to teachers in these areas. Both texts use stories told in 20 scenes of dialogue. They are easy and fun to use, do not require any drama experience, props or special acting ability, and include warm-ups, language activities and teacher's notes. Both may also be used as supplements. This will be a workshop-style, participatory presentation.
