Theater in the English Language Classroom: Learning Through Play

Description:
This is a presentation on how to utilize a number of theatre games as icebreakers and language building tools in the English classroom. In particular, the presentation will focus on role-playing and mimicry as integral parts of the language learning process. Excerpts from the Nagoya Players' upcoming production of "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" will be presented as a means of highlighting the power of word play both in drama and in the language learning experience.
