Description:
This presentation examines different modes of literacy and their interdependence. How are the the contexts of language learning and language usage linked? How are the modes of learning and usage linked? How do core competencies relate differently at different levels of language acquisition and performance. This presentation will address these and other questions by relating them to second language learning and teaching themes in Asia and Africa. It will refer to classroom practices and propose options based on second language lessons taught in both regions by the presenter.
